I would like to take this opportunity to share some information about the requirements and expectations that operate within
my classroom. Physical Science is a year-long course, with classes meeting for a double period every other day. The double
periods will allow for many laboratory activities, meeting every other day will hopefully give students more time to prepare,
process, and/or seek additional help as needed.
Students will need a 3-ring binder, calculator, 2 notebooks, pen (blue/black ink), pencil, and Agenda everyday for class.
It is important that students come prepared to Physical Science. I have high expectations of all students and believe they
can all excel in Physical Science. Student achievement will be assessed in a variety of ways. Notebooks will be graded periodically
along with assignments, lab reports, quizzes, and tests. Using a variety of tools for assessment results in a more accurate
grade.
In order to create a positive learning environment for all students, I expect every student to follow the guidelines and
procedures in my classroom:
CLASSROOM GUIDELINES:
1. Be on time.
2. Come prepared to learn.
3. Respect your own right to learn as well as others right to learn.
4. Ask questions and participate -
5. Observe and uphold all school and district rules.
Consequences:
Students who follow these guidelines and procedures will have a successful experience in Physical Science. Failure to
follow these guidelines and procedures will result in:
1. A student-teacher conference.
2. Time spent after class, before school, or after school with teacher.
3. Parent call.
4. Referral to the office.
Classroom procedures:
- Students late to class will meet with the teacher before or after school.
- Cheating will result in a zero for that test or assignment.
- Assignments must be turned in on time for full credit. Late assignments (1/2 credit) are only allowed up to 3 days
after the due date.
- Students will have 3 days to correct wrong answers
for half credit.
